Got Married!

Our Honeyfund, Registry, and Charitable Giving

We are honored to have you be part of our day.  We're very lucky - we already have many of the things we need, and we have a great life together.  We have registered at a few select locations for a small number of items, but our needs and wants are few, and we are very thankful for what we have, especially the love of our friends and family.

Our 2016 resolution is a simple motto - Experiences, not Things.  We want to invest time and money into making quality memories and to hold onto pictures, not "stuff."  While your presence in our lives and at our wedding is the most valuable gift you can give us, if you feel inclined, a contribution to our honeymoon fund via Honeyfund (a safe and secure site known for this sort of thing) would warm our hearts far longer than a piece of china or a vase.  We look forward to spending our lives together, discovering new places, visiting our friends near and far, and sharing all the stories with you of all the memories we've made.

Charitable Giving

Nothing would honor us more than a donation to a deserving organization - we're incredibly happy to be able to throw a big party, but we are constantly mindful that we are among the luckiest and want to give back.  We'd love to hear about the organizations our guests care about!  If, however, you'd like to know of organizations we love to make a donation, we hold the following organizations particularly near and dear to our hearts.

International Rescue Committee

The IRC was founded at the request of Albert Einstein 83 years ago to assist Germans suffering under the Nazi regime.  It was later expanded with the aid of Eleanor Roosevelt and others to provide emergency relief for World War II refugees across Europe, and now operates in 40 countries, providing first responders, health care workers, economic development,  education, and resettling assistance for refugees and enabling war-torn nations to provide safe and thriving environments for all its citizens.  The IRC operates on a bare-bones budget, with 93% of all funds going directly to programs that improve the lives of innocent civilians and children affected by war and political conflict.  Molly worked as a consultant for the IRC in graduate school, and both Molly and Andrew have long considered the IRC's work to be incredibly rewarding and critical in creating a safe and prosperous world. United States National Park Foundation

Formally established 100 years ago this August by (Virginia native!) President Woodrow Wilson, the United States National Park Service is truly America's best idea - an idea as radical and unique as the Declaration of Independence and America itself, that the most special places in the nation should be preserved and enjoyed, not just by the rich or elite, but by everyone.  With 58 national parks and 333 national historic sites, the National Park Service allows any American and visitor to experience things as incredible as the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia (and touch it, if you ask nicely), the lava flows of Hawaii, the massive Denali of Alaska, the Joshua Trees of California, and literally where the buffalo roam and the deer and the antelope play in Yellowstone and Yosemite.  Andrew and Molly both grew up spending time at the local national parks and monuments in Virginia, and Andrew worked in Virgin Islands National Park in St. John, USVI,  all of which have only been possible because of the ongoing support of the National Park Service from federal tax dollars and generous support from donors from the National Park Foundation, who diligently work to preserve both Virgin Islands National Park and others throughout our country for future generations to enjoy.  Click here to donate to the National Park Foundation.

Doctors Without Borders/Medicine Sans Frontierres

MSF was founded in 1971 by a small group of French doctors and journalists who believed that all people have the right to medical care regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation, and that the needs of these people outweigh respect for national borders.  MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999 and continues to operate in war-torn areas, as well as areas facing endemic disease with the goal of helping people live and thrive to lead healthy and productive lives.  We have several guests that are unable to make the trip to our wedding simply because they are on assignments with MSF, and while we will miss them at the wedding and will be thinking of them, we are proud to call them friends and to help their work in any way we can.  Click here to donate to Doctors Without Borders/Medicins Sans Frontieres.
